The Honorary Presentation of the BMF Championship at UFC 300

UFC president Dana White recently announced that Hall of Famer Mark Coleman will have the honor of presenting the BMF championship belt to the winner of the Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway fight at UFC 300. This news follows a miraculous event in Coleman’s life. Last month, Coleman was involved in the heroic rescue of his parents from a house fire in Toledo, Ohio. As a result of the incident, Coleman ended up in a medically induced coma for three days until he was able to breathe on his own.

The Real-Life BMF

Max Holloway played a significant role in bringing the idea of having Mark Coleman present the BMF championship to the attention of the UFC. Holloway referred to Coleman as the “real life BMF” due to his bravery and courage during the house fire incident. Justin Gaethje also supported the idea, and Coleman expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of UFC 300.

In addition to the special presentation by Mark Coleman, Dana White also announced that the fight night bonuses for UFC 300 would see a significant increase. The standard bonus of $50,000 was boosted to a record $300,000, eliciting an enthusiastic response from both the fighters and the fans in attendance. This decision was made in response to a suggestion brought up by a media member during the UFC 300 news conference.

Conor McGregor, who is not slated to compete at UFC 300 but is eyeing a summer matchup with Michael Chandler, commended the UFC for the increased bonuses. Prior to UFC 300, the largest fight night bonus was $160,000, awarded to Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann for their epic showdown at UFC on Versus 3 in 2011. While UFC 100 presented bonuses of $100,000, UFC 200 saw a return to the standard bonus of $50,000.

The upcoming UFC 300 event promises to be memorable not only for the anticipated Gaethje vs. Holloway matchup but also for the special honor bestowed upon Mark Coleman. With record-breaking bonuses and a touch of heroism, the stage is set for an unforgettable night in Las Vegas.
