Ronaldo, the all-time leading goalscorer for Madrid, responded to Mbappé’s post with words of encouragement and support.
Kylian Mbappé will be joining a Madrid side that is currently the reigning Spanish and European champions, having secured a double victory last season. They won LaLiga with a 10-point margin and triumphed over Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the Champions League final. Mbappé’s new salary at Madrid is reported to be €15 million per year after taxes, with an additional €150 million signing-on fee to be paid over the duration of his contract.
Several of Mbappé’s new teammates at Madrid took to social media to welcome his arrival. Vinícius Júnior shared his excitement with a “watch” emoji ahead of the official announcement.
